Coruscant, handmade, and witty, these are the ‘IT bags’ perfect for your next soiree!

Amongst mesmerized expressions and gleaming reflections of silvers and gilded bases adorned with pearls, Swarovski diamonds, and exorbitant jewels, the rooted culture subtly stood out in each of the curations by AiSPi.Co, a brand bringing international designs to the Indian scene.

On the 14th and 15th of September, a coveted Trunk Show was held by AiSPi.Co X Shivan & Narresh at Two Moons Bengaluru. Sarayu Hegde, the host of the show was in attendance with multiple accolades and fashion enthusiasts.

Showcasing a splendid curated collection by 35 international designers, the show brought the best of high fashion and couture to India. It turned heads from Delhi and Mumbai to an up-and-coming style metropolitan: Bengaluru.

Luxurious, coruscant embellishments and structured integrity; such were the clutches, slings, and unique additions at Asipi.co X Shivan & Narresh Pop-Up Exhibition.

The unique creations did not shy away from handcrafted details as well: from macrame designs to hand-stitched hemlines, both the curated collection of bags and the Shivan & Narresh Resort Collection complemented synchronous ensembles.

The lineup truly shows us that fashionable style and looking in-trend need not come at the expense of sustainability. We do not need to resort to brands that churn fast fashion pieces that might die over the season, instead focus on re-styling the statement accessories with evergreen nostalgia in our fabrics.

Trends Spotted

From the Egyptian takeaways from hefty Okhtein creations to the ice-glass textures, each utilitarian opulence represented a part of the world, incorporating its culture, residents, and lifestyle as a whole.

Gemmed Goddess

Heavy-duty has a new look with Vanina and Rosantica clutches and sling bags that have the whole design tied together with lookalike gemstones etched into a slouchy velvet.

Soiree Shimmers

Mietis and L’afshar served statement pieces that were the perfect fit for an evening soiree. From structured graters to planetoid moonlit Bera Cosmos Bag, the sheen leather is a statement that goes with shimmering tassels as well as over-the-top gowns.

Iconic Pinks and Greens

Thanks to Barbie and the boom of out-there pink, the negative greens have also got their limelight as a color-blocked support. Pipatchara, Nita Suri and La’Lingi had their fair share of explorations within this colour scheme.

Tiny, Tinier, Tiniest!

The playful nostalgia by Nita Suri’s Lia Handbag and foldable craftworks by Mlouye had all the jolly and fun-loving spirits. And fret not! These minuscule clutches gave a multitude of styling avenues: from slings to fannies, and of course, as a sober clutch.

Hefty and On-Duty

Notice the mango-motif details paired with recent moons and King Tutankhamun headgear-inspired details.

For the ones who truly indulge in the hustle, Okhtein gave contemporary Egyptian motifs a modern look with their Palmette Hexagon Minaudiere. Crafted from heavy-duty (metal name), these gold and black renditions have a name in everyone’s wardrobe that means business in fashion.

Relish, Revel, Resort!

The Resort Collection by Shivan & Narresh gave a breezy break from our daily hustle with their hand-painted prints of beachside scenic views and hilltop sunsets. From a bird’s eye view, these paintings in flowy silhouettes constructed with (fabric) had hemline details that have been ingrained within us as the true summer aura.

Notice the handpainted appeal in the bustier along with the domed hemline detail that gives off the Pinterest summer aesthetic.

From bustiers to short dresses and jumpsuits to kaftans, the resort line had it all. Cutout ombre dresses, shell-built cropped bustier, and embroidered borders came together for a vibrant set of blues, orange, and yellows.

Shivan & Narresh had their best in attendance when it came to silhouettes from their previous Resort Collections (one might as well call it the perfect amalgamation of vacay glamour!)

Kaleidoscopic Landscapes: Solscape

With sunset shine and Rajasthan-inspired scenic paintings, all one can think of are leisurely activities on a sunny day. Solscape adds a magnifying lens to the relaxing sunbathe appeal of Rajasthan amongst vibrant combinations of tangerine, reds, and occasional splashes of violet hues.

Oasis Breath: Surocco

Surocco is the true personification of a feeling when you finally find the oasis within a barren desert. Quintessential in its visuals, the equestrian aesthetics with the vegetation limited to cacti within the sand dunes, with Surocco, you rejoice in the free spirit that is liberated from the materialism of the world.

A Dash of Pop: LÉGÈRMASH

If you are on the lookout for a nostalgia that is millennial, this early 90s maximalist print will give you exactly that and then some. LÉGÈRMASH by Shivan & Narresh is a concise curation of a plethora of emotions. From playful to unapologetically unorganized and funky, these retro prints will take you back to the Andy Warhol era.

Regal Regions: Maru

Rajasthan is incomplete without the scenic regal palaces, and Shivan & Narresh gave justice to the modern-day chateaux by honoring a complete collection to them. Maru embodies the royal scenery of Rajasthan with the dust-bowl wilderness on the foreground.

This was one of the first few events I attended as a fashion journalist. It’s good to have a break from my desktop from time to time to explore all the new launches firsthand!
